JUST IN: Kumawood Actor Agya Manu Passes On

Veteran Ghanaian actor Agya Manu has reportedly passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2021. According to sources, the actor passed after battling a short illness. Agya Manu was a permanent fixture on the Kumawood scene and featured in many movies. He was recently spotted on the set of Cocoa Season, a TV series produced by Lilwin. We send our condolences to the family of Agya Manu.

JUST IN: List of TV stations to be shut down for operating without authorization NCA

Joe Anokye is the National Communications Authority boss Some 49 television stations that have been operating without authorizations are to be shut down by the National Communications Authority (NCA). This exercise, according to a statement by the NCA, “forms part of a continuous monitoring exercise conducted on various satellite free-to-air television platforms using the Broadcast Monitoring System (BMS) and the Radio Spectrum Monitoring System (RSMS).” The statement further stated that the monitoring exercise revealed that some television channels in the country were operating without valid NCA authorizations. “As a result, 49 channels have been identified to be operating without valid authorizations from the Authority and is being shut down accordingly,” the statement added. Nana Agradaa is in the grips of the police It has been confirmed that Nana Agradaa, the fetish priestess who has gained notoriety for allegedly defrauding people under the pretext of doubling their monies been arrested by state security operatives. The Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Mr Godfred Yeboah Dame, says the efforts to regulate the media is cast in law and falls within international best practices, saying" regulating the media is not unconstitutional". He said the 1992 Constitution architecture anticipated the need to regulate the media landscape, to protect the reputation and rights of the citizens, as well as uphold public morality and order. He noted that after the Constitution granted freedom of expression and information to the media in Articles 162 and 163, it also imposed reasonable limitations on the media to protect the rights of others. Mr Yeboah Dame made these remarks at a consultative meeting convened by the Ministry of information in Accra, on Friday, to deliberate on broadcasting in Ghana. Ghanaian musician, Eugene Kwame Marfo, known in showbiz circles as Kuami Eugene has vowed to take off the Rasta he has been growing for over a year in solidarity for Akuapem Poloo. AWA completes its first commercial flight to Ho Airport

The Ho Airport has begun operations with the first flight landing at the multi-million dollar facility. Operations started on Thursday, April 15 and the first flight was an Africa World Airlines’ commercial airbus. The first test flight landed at the airport at exactly 14:20 hours GMT with the price from the capital, Accra to Ho being GHC 99. The Chairman of the Association of Ghana Industries for the Volta, Oti, and Eastern Regions, Dela Gadzanku who spoke with Citi FM shared his thoughts about the economic prospects of the airport. He said; “As the region industrializes, it is necessary to diversify entry routes into the region. Actress Rosemond Brown popularly known as Akuapem Poloo has been convicted by the Accra Circuit Court over naked pictures with her son. The conviction comes after she posted a naked picture with her son on Instagram celebrating his seventh birthday. She has been remanded into custody to undergo a pregnancy test before her sentencing. GRIDCo MD Lied To Ghanaians - Allotey Jacobs Blasts

Social commentator, Bernard Allotey Jacobs has slammed the Managing Director of the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) for attributing the power cuts in the country to challenges with Bui Power Plant. GRIDCo is said to have told the Minister of Energy, Matthew Opoku Prempeh, that the Bui Power Plant was a causative agent of the intermittent power supply. The company, at a press briefing on the issue, explained that the Bui Power Plant had been shut down because of low water in the dam.
