COVID-19: 41 Nurses And Midwives Test Positive, 288 Others Quarantined Nine more nurses and midwives have tested positive for Coronavirus, Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives’ Association (GRNMA) has confirmed. The figure takes the number from 32 to 41 with one death, the GRNMA said, adding that 288 others have also been quarantined countrywide. According to the GRNMA, the numbers do not include members at the Covid-19 treatment centers, adding that a lack of personal protective equipment (PPE) and infections from patients for the outbreak contribute to the staggering figure. “What is more interesting is that those that have been infected are not at the Covid-19 treatment centers, they are those at the periphery,” said Dr. David Tenkorang Twum. Military man shoots policewoman at Tema Newtown COVID-19 checkpoint A military officer on lockdown duties at a checkpoint at Tema Newtown has shot a police woman. The incident happened Thursday at about 8:30 am. The policewoman, Lance Corporal Francisca Tenge, who was also on ‘Operation Covid-Safety’ duties at the same checkpoint with the military man, was shot in the leg and knee. Circumstances under which the military man shot the police officer is not immediately known as the police is yet to establish the motive for the action, our correspondent Josephine Antwi-Adjei reported. Schools to Reopen Soon – Information Minister  The Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has revealed that the President is in talks with stakeholders on reopening schools soon.
