AWA completes its first commercial flight to Ho Airport

The Ho Airport has begun operations with the first flight landing at the multi-million dollar facility.
Operations started on Thursday, April 15 and the first flight was an Africa World Airlines’ commercial airbus.
The first test flight landed at the airport at exactly 14:20 hours GMT with the price from the capital, Accra to Ho being GHC 99.

The Chairman of the Association of Ghana Industries for the Volta, Oti, and Eastern Regions, Dela Gadzanku who spoke with Citi FM shared his thoughts about the economic prospects of the airport. He said;
“As the region industrializes, it is necessary to diversify entry routes into the region. With the coming on board of the Ho airport, there should be a boom in business activities in the region.”
This now means that Ghana now has about six domestic airport in addition to its one international airport.The country aims to make many of these airports international so that the over-dependency of the Kotoka International Airport will be curbed.
