If Akuapem Polo was a minister’s daughter, she might have gone free - Counselor Adofoli Says

Ghanaian counselor, Counselor Frank Edem Adofoli has also shared his thoughts about the sentence given to Ghanaian video vixen, Rosemond Brown who is known as Akuapem Poloo.

The renowned counselor made this submission in a recent post he made on his official social media handle on Facebook.

The post is titled, IF ONLY AKUAPEM POLO WAS A “BIG MAN’S” DAUGHTER and it reads;
“When we complain the system is corrupt, who makes up the system, who are the components of the corrupt system? We the electorate (poor and the rich, educated and the illiterate, the youth and old, etc). Sadly, they are all corrupt, the poor are just as corrupt as the rich. As a matter of fact, it’s the poor who are making the so-called rich men rich. The rich take advantage of the poor. The rich feed on the poor.

When a poor man is selling something, as soon as he sees a man in suit or in a big car, the price is increased, I guess that doesn’t make the poor man corrupt? If a big man offers you money or gift to vote for them and you accept that, don’t you see that as corrupt? The supposed big man who is corrupt belongs to your political party, any wrong is right until your party is out of office. That’s the system.

If Akuapem Polo was a minister’s daughter, she might have gone free. The question is why is a minister’s daughter made to go free? If a minister breaks the system or shields his daughter, you have the power to vote him out of office. Take him out of power, he should be afraid of the citizens because they gave him the power.

Unfortunately, because the rich is also corrupt, they buy power from the poor by offering them little money to vote them into power. We put them in power to do their corrupt businesses and not to serve us because we sold our power to them in exchange for a little money or few items. We see this happening during every election year. And do we expect the same minister or politician to change or bend the law to please us?
Lots of people are angry because of the conviction of Polo, the anger may be justified but think through it, you are part of the problem. We are quick to judge but slow to change the system. We keep selling our power to the wrong people. The power is not for sale, give it to the people who will serve you.

When it comes to the court, it is a game of evidence. no poor man is willing to take evidence to the court against the big man or politician who is tagged “corrupt”. Even if a case is between the poor man and the politician or big man, the poor man could be so corrupt that, he will sell the evidence to the opponent.

Akuapem Polo, was made to see or understand she is at a fault, so she pleaded guilty and was convicted on her own plea. But when it come to the so-called big men who are tagged with corruption, they deny it and see nothing wrong with their actions. How do you convict such a person? How can you change such a person?

How can the system prosecute such a person? Its either we practice what we preach or change our speech or remain silent. Let the anger we feel change us. It’s not enough to blame and criticize others, let’s accept the truth for it takes the truth to set us free. A poor corrupt man cannot change or correct a rich corrupt man.

In conclusion, “No! For unless you are honest in small matters, you won’t be in large ones. If you cheat even a little, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities” – Luke 16:10 (TLB).”
